Well. Transfers were this week. Sister White left me... ): It was sad. I cried a lot. Ha! Classic. She told me not to, but that was a funny request! We all knew that wouldn't happen! Ha. I was doing really well, and then before we drove to transfers we knelt down for prayer and I offered to say it. And I say all my prayers in Portuguese, but this one I chose to say in English. I got in about 5 words and started bawling. But I got through the prayer and we both said amen and just looked at each other. Then we hugged. I love her so much. I was so sad to see her go.. The drive to transfers wasn't long enough. I just wanted to stay there. We were still just laughing and having fun and joking around. Then we got to transfers and she went and sat on the stand to say her departing testimony during the transfer meeting. Well, Elder Shirtz and Sister Beeson also gave departing testimonies because they were off to Brasil! Lets just say, I was a mess of tears! After the meeting I went up to Sister Beeson and hugged her and just started bawling! She's so cute. I just told her that I'm not sure how much longer I can do this and that I wish I was going to Brasil with her. She scolded me and said I can absolutely do this! And that we'll all be in Brasil together soon. She just said to keep pushing. I love her. I had kind of calmed down, then I went to Sister White and just started bawling while hugging her too! I love her so much! Man. Gosh dangit. So I was just a mess. Then an elder from my first area was there! That was happy, we're friends. He came up to me and asked if I had my visa. Ha! No.. He thought that's why I was crying. Haha! Nope. Just the opposite. So then Sister White and Sister Beeson and I kind of all hung around as long as we could before they had to leave... Then I was back to Milford to continue to work!
My new companion is Sister Lee. She has been out 14 months and was actually my Sister Training Leader! And so we were in the same zone, and she only hopped over districts. She was in her last area for 11 months! This is the longest I've been in one are, 3 months. Ha! But it's good. I had done an exchange with her in Milford, so she already knows a lot of the people here. She's a great missionary. She works hard and has fun. It's good (: I'm gonna learn lots from her. It's definitely weird adjusting though. I've never stayed in an area and received a new companion. It's somewhat strange. But we're figuring things out!
It's reallyy a lot stormy here. Like heavy rain, lightning and thunder. And I know understand the term, "rolling thunder." Didn't really get it before, and now I understand. It's just a long deep heavy thunder that lasts forever! It's scary.. But exciting! But everything is rain. It reminds me of Oregon (: It's a lot of fun, except that my boots don't keep water out... So that's no fun. My feet are wet a lot. It's just water though. And rather that than snow!
General Conference! Favorite thing ever! I LOVE conference weekend! And it was AMAZING! What great talks! I cannot wait for the Conference issue of the Ensign! My favorite was President Uchtdorf's talk. I went into Conference with questions and he answered them for me! I love when you feel like they're talking right at you. It's amazing. I did, however, miss our crepe tradition! It's crazy to think that everyone is somewhere else and so it's just mom and dad. So I hope you made crepes! Yum.
So Sister Lee had like a pinched nerve or something in her back, so we went to a member's house in Kentucky, who's a chiropractor to have him fix it. And he popped me too! First time ever going to a chiropractor! It was GREAT! Who knew that my neck could pop so much! I really needed a realignment. It felt SO good! He said that I should stop popping my own back and neck. So I'm gonna try that. But! He did say that popping my knuckles was okay! (: So yay! But it felt real good.
Does anyone remember the quote that we had by the kitchen walkway under that Peruvian picture that Dad had us memorize? I can't remember who it was from... Like C.S. Lewis or something. About trials. And it's not that they get easier, it's that we become stonger and can handle them. If someone could find that quote and send it to me, I'd be happy (:
That's about it! Know that I love you! Lots!
Sister Dunn
