Transfers, new area, visa waiters, family history and love! May 19, 2014

Alright. Lots to say.

First. None of my family emailed me this week.. So that's sad. But hey, thankfully we can repent of our wrongdoing and strive to be better! There's always next week! (;

So. I've been transferred. Ready to know where I went?!

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA!

I've made it almost to the very top of our mission! Up in Indiana! It was funny, cause I said I wanted to go to Kentucky. Ha! Then I went to the opposite end of our mission. But I love it here! It's great. The people are great, we've already done so much. I can feel that it's going to be a great transfer! Fort Wayne is neat because it's a city! So we get to drive downtown and see all the big buildings and such, it's neat! I love it. My new companion is Sister Montrose (pronounced like mon-chrose, hope that makes sense. The 't' is more of a 'ch' noise). She is gluten intolerant! WHAA?! Ya. So no bread or wheat like substances at our dinner appointments. It was weird at first, but they have lots of different substitutes, so it's good (: She's 5'10'' and is from Utah! She's really sweet. We're gonna do work here in Fort Wayne!

My new address is:

5491 N Clinton St.
Fort Wayne, IN 46825

So now you can send me lots of mails! I gave this address to my last companion, so she will be forwarding all mail to me. So Lucy, I'll hopefully get them soon! She said that I had gotten one and that she was forwarding it (: You're the best.

I was really sad to leave Milford. I didn't want to... It was home, and I loved the members. But it's fun to start new, to start over. It's kind of exciting. And Sister Sofele and I are in the same zone again! WOO! Only separated for 2 transfers (: Last night in Milford we went and played whiffle ball with the Bellistons and their neighbors. The elders were there too, so it was a party! It was so much fun. A great way to end the transfer! Then Sister Scott took us to transfers. I was freaking out, like I always do at transfers. And she was sweet and she gave me a "mom hug." It was nice. And much needed.

Transfers were cool. People are picked on to give testimonies, and one girl gave one, and I just felt something with her, it was weird. Well, it was Sister Montrose and we ended up companion. The Lord really knows what he's doing, and President Porter is truly inspired. It was neat. But embarrassing, cause I was sitting next to Sister Sofele and we got stuck talking and so I didn't even hear when they called my name, and Sister Sofele elbowed me and said, "That was you!" It was awkward and everyone laughed. Hah! But it's all good now!

There are only 3 of us visa waiters left, and somehow we ended up in the same district! And President Porter called me a few days ago and asked how I was doing and asked what I thought about us being all together. I thought he had planned that so we could work together on our Portuguese, but then he said he's excited to see what the Lord has in store because that is just the way it worked out! Crazy! That is so neat! Heavenly Father really does have a plan for us! He knows us all and knows where our paths will take us. It's neat to see. Everyone thinks we're together because we're all going to be leaving soon. Ha! We'll see (:

Every Wednesday we go to the Family History Library here in Fort Wayne and work. And it's actually a public library. To be exact, it's the largest Family History Library open to the public! How cool! I got a tour of it, and we get to do work there! It's SO neat! They have a TON of books. Lots of old ones. It was amazing! Their goal is to scan every book on earth! Pretty big goal, but a great one! So that's what we do. We go in and scan pages in books! It was SO much fun! I felt like I was helping out, and in a big way. We went and worked for a bit and I scanned about 200 pages of this really old book. I've got pictures (: It was incredible. They have senior missionaries serving missions there, so we get to work with them (: They're sweet. Senior missionaries are the best!

I got my nails did! One of our investigators, Michele, is a professional nail tech! So she does our nails! I was so excited. I've never had my nails done. So she did gells, and I got like a mint blue green color with big chunk sparkles (: They're pretty! It's fun. She's hilarious and I love her. She said a couple days ago that she would join the church if she could, but her husband doesn't agree.. So that's tough. But we're working with her! It'll be good!

Cooper! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope your day was happy and special. I was thinking a lot about you! I was going to send you a card... but I still don't have your address.. So I just sent my love! Hope you got it (:

The people here are great! I'm excited to be here in Fort Wayne! I love it. We're gonna work hard and do our best and help our brothers and sisters come closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ!

Also. Mom and Dad. I just want you to know how grateful I am for you. And for our family. I can't tell you just how grateful I am for how you raised us. That you taught us correct principles and how to be members of Christ's church and live our lives in a way that will bring us happiness. I've really recognized that a lot this week. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you and your examples. I love my family more than anything, you're my life. I'm grateful to know that we can be together forever. You're all my friends! As I talk about you, I only have great things to say, and how grateful I am that we're best friends. That's so perfect! We truly are blessed! Mom and Dad, thank you. Thank you for all you do for me. I appreciate every little bit! Thanks for teaching us the importance of attending church, and reading our scriptures and praying daily. Boy, where would I be if you hadn't taught me that?! I love being able to teach others about how those principles have truly blessed my family. Thank you so much.

I love you all so very much! I'm doing good. I'm happy. The church is true. Christ lives. God speaks to us. We are so blessed to know this. And how neat that we have the chance and opportunity to be examples to others and to teach them of this great knowledge that we have! Ah! Love it.

Hope you have a happy week! I love you all so much!
Sister Clara Kay Dunn.

Also. I have to redo that stupid FBI Clearance crap. Excuse my angry words. I'm just mad. Can't this all just work out already?! Sheesh. So it cost another like $20 to put it in, and then it might cost money to get my fingerprints done again and then I'll have to pay to ship it out. I'll keep you updated on that. Hopefully it doesn't give me as many troubles as the last one did. That was a pain! So just be aware that it'll be sent to you and then you'll have to send it back and all that jazz. Again. Blah. Whateves!

LOVE YOU!
Said bye to one of our investigators, Heather and her adorable kids. This is Javari, he's 4. And he wouldn't look at the camera for a picture. Ha!

Domonic (6) and Javari (4), they are so darn cute! Hahah.

They were fun. I miss them.

Giving high fives!

Playing whiffle ball!

The Belliston family! Parents and their children and us and their friend Joe.

Lisa Belliston. She is hilarious. And was like a mom. She was so kind to me.

Said goodbye to the Garcias. Their door opened and this is what I see! Hahah! I've been wanting to take pictures with them since I first got to Milford, and I did on my last night! Woo!

Bahaha. Awkward arm touch with Peeta.

Ha! We were holding hands. But don't tell president.

AHH! I got to meet them all! They're real people! I can't even believe! (; So much love. We had way too much fun having a photo shoot with them. ha!

Alls my stuffs! That's it. And that was a lot. But I was told I pack light. ha!

Reunited with Sister Sofele! Love her. Best friend.

So this is a picture of Sister Clawson, me, Sister Montrose and Sister Bergeson. Clawson trained me, Bergeson trained Montrose. Me and Montrose are companions and Clawson and Bergeson are companions! WHAA! Cool.

Welcome to Indiana! Yay!

We have a washer and dryer IN our apartment! Best ever!

Working at the Family History Library. That's the fancy scanner thing I was working on!

Here's the book I was working on. It was like land government cases from the 1930's!

This is one of my Zone Leaders, Elder Smith. They serve in the same ward we do, Fort Wayne Second Ward (it's weird hearing Second Ward, makes me think of my home ward!). We had a meeting with them and Elder Smith brought in a tub of ice cream, and 4 spoons... Ha!..

Saw this on my way here! COOL! I'm gonna have to eat there! (:

That's about it family. Lots of pictures. Hope you enjoy!
Know that I love you lots, and pray for you always. Can't wait to hear from you next week! I'll be emailing earlier in the day, so just be prepared!

Love you!

Not much (: May 21, 2014

Hey, family! Remember when I saw your faces?! And heard your voices! That was a great moment! That really was so happy (: I'm glad that I got to talk with all of you. It was nice to catch up and just talk. I love that. We just were the Dunn Family together again! It was happy. Thank you (:

So... This week I was sick.. So we didn't do a lot..

Oh! And as for transfers! I'm leaving... I've served here for 4 months and now I'm headed to a new area! CRAZY! I'm nervous to leave.. I'm anxious, but it'll be good! The Lord needs me somewhere else! And I'll go where He wants me to go! (:

Well.. Haha. That's about it! Not much happened this week. I was sick, I got to see you all, and now I'm leaving Milford. So I'll let you know my new address next week! And any mail that was sent to this address will be forwarded to me. I made Sister Lee promise that she'll be diligent with getting it to me! (: So that'll be good.

Family, I truly loved getting to see you all. I love you all so very much. You're my world. And it was happy to talk and see you! It's crazy to think that we do that one more time! In 7 months! And then I'll be coming home a month later.. CRAZY! As for now, I'm gonna get transferred to a new area, I'm gonna work hard and have fun! And then maybe someday I'll get to Brasil! (; We'll see!

I love you all so very much! Thanks for all the love and support. I pray for you every day. You're my favorite.

With all my love,
Sister Clara Kay Dunn.

This was a creepy death room that we saw in someone's apartment. So Sister Lee went in and made a creepy face. It was scary. Ha!

For a Relief Society activity, it was a "Care-of-being" Cruise. Get it, Caribbean! So we made face masks! First one I've ever done in my life! Sister Newberry and I got real into it (: It was fun!

So relaxing!

Just cruising in Ohio! Everything is so green now. I love it!

Bahaha! Oh so excited!.. Being sick and trying to go out and work is not fun.. But I'm doing it!

The very first time I received the gift given out on Mother's Day! I felt so honored! It was an XL candy bar! It was gone by the end of church... ha!

FAMILY! Snuck some pictures! Thought you'd like to see (: It was SO fun to see you all! The angle is weird for the pictures because I did it upward.

Man, I just love you all SO much!

This was where I studied. My beautiful wall of pictures, and quotes and family and friends! It was GREAT! I just took it down this morning.. Sad day. But that just means I get to start all over! Fresh! (:

Bowling! This was from last week, just thought you'd like to see the group! Cincinnati East Zone! Farewell.

Well family. I love you all so very much. Thank you for everything you do for me! Keep being amazing.

Love you!

Alright family. Guess what?! MOTHER'S DAY! Yepp. That's what. It's in less than a week! And do you want to know a secret?! Cause it's a reallyy good secret that I am really very excited for... Are you ready? I'd have you guess, but it'd take too long to get your guesses. So I'm going to tell you... right... now....!

WE GET TO SKYPE!

Did you hear me?! I GET TO SEE YOUR FACES! AND YOU GET TO SEE MY FACE! Can you even believe that?! We found out last night and I almost peed my pants and started crying. Haha! I'm so excited. I can't even contain myself.

So that's that. Cannot wait. Excited.

Had interviews with President and his wife. They were amazing! So helpful. I really needed it. They're so wise. I just know that I'm still supposed to be here. As hard as that is to say. And this is my mission. I've spent the majority of my mission here in Ohio, so this is my mission! The greater OCM! Ohio Cincinnati Mission! (:

We went on exchanges this last week, up to Little Miami, and they had an investigator that we did service for. She had a storage unit that she wanted us to clean out, and it was FULL of boxes of vintage clothing! And she said anything that we liked that looked like it will fit us, we can take! Um, that's only my dream! It was amazing! There was so much, and it was like all my size! So we took a bunch back to the apartment and all 4 of us tried them on and took what fit us. So... I came back with 16 new skirts.. HAHAH! They're all so vintage and cute! I love them. I doubled my wardrobe. Haha! So I'm set for life! I'll be sending lots home. I have a box that I'm working on, I'll send it when it's full (:

That's about it! Big week. Excited for Sunday! Happy Mother's Day mommy (: I love you so much! I can't wait to talk to you. And to see you! I hope we can figure this all out so that it works on Sunday (:

I love you all so much!
Sister Dunn.
Sister Sofele just walked into our building one day! It was so happy! Sister Erickson and I were excited. Miss her (she moved to a different zone).

Photo shoot at a pretty place.

 It was a cool road.

 Sister Lee twirling!

One of my vintage skirts (: They're all so cute!

 Selfie... Ha!

We went bowling today as a Zone! This is Sister Hefner (: She's my friend. We write each other letters and deliver them to each other at church. She meets when I get out. Haha!

I got all the pins but 1! And I got 2 strikes! And I scored a 111 on the first game and a 70 on the second. Ha!

Well that's about it! I love you all! Hope your week is great! Talk to you in 6 days! (:

Love you.

33, hair, fishies April 28, 2014

Alright you guys. I feel super loved. I got 33 emails this week. Yepp. Thirty three! And usually I write this email first, so that it's a good one, but for some reason I didn't. I got so excited about my other emails. So I don't have like any time.. SORRY!

Well. I chopped my hair off on Tuesday. I just did it. I figured why not while on my mission. Cause if it doesn't look good, oh well! It's not like I'm trying to attract boys! So it's good! (: And it's fun. I like it. It's definitely different, I'm sill trying to figure it out, but it's fun. I wish I could color it.. I mean, I could, but it's not worth keeping it up while on my mission. Also.. I've kind of stopped wearing makeup.. Ah! No! But yes.. I wear it on Sundays. Or when I have meetings. But other than that, I'm just going the way God made me! (: So there are some random things for you to know. Ha!

Today I went to the New Port Aquarium in Kentucky! (Places over here like to steal names. Like Miami, and New Port.. It's weird). It was so much fun! We were going to go to the Cincinnati Zoo, but it was raining. Like thunder storm status. This morning, with our windshield wipers of full blast, like spastic speed, it still wasn't enough. It was hard to see. And we drove into the storm. Lightning right before it! It was CRAZY! So we went to the Aquarium. And I loved it! I got to pet a shark! COOL! (: And see cool fishies. And learn a lot about them. I even got to see Dory and Nemo! And I saw fish that were from Hawaii! And they were my friends! I told them I was excited to see their families when I go home to mine! Hahaha. (: It was so much fun to actually go and do something for our Preparation Day. It was exciting.

Finding and teaching is going well. I'm really loving the ward. They're my family. I like it here a lot.

Well I have to go. I must go study my language! Yes, I still study Portuguese every day for an hour.

I hit my halfway mark. I'm on the other side of the mountain. Crazy! Can't believe it.

Mother's Day is coming up! I'm SO excited! Don't know details yet, I'll probably know next week and I'll let you know. Love you lots!

Love,
Sister Clara Kay Dunn.

I got my easter package! You are the best family (: SO cute! And delicious. That Moose Munch was gone in like 2 days. Hah!

The before picture.. We look so sad and not very pretty. Ha!

 AFTER! It's so short! AH!

Made this sticky note! Excited! (:

Another street sign with the name Clara on it! COOL! (: I knew I loved it here. Haha.

Bahahaha! 9 months. I had a baby. But not really. I just love the Book of Mormon. We thought we was clever.

 Goofs.

I curled my hair! It was so much fun! I liked it.

I decided to get all dolled up (:

Companions. Sister Lee and I.

At the Aquarium! We were on the Kentucky side. That's the Ohio River. And that's Cincinnati in the background (:

 Rainy day in Cincinnati.

At the Aquarium! I'm wearing jeans! Haha. YAY! (:

The New Port Aquarium on the Levee.

I saw a map of the world. I was hoping to see some fishies from Brasil! I saw some (:

 SHARKS!

Woohoo! Now I know how to say 'fish' in Portuguese. And in a bunch of other languages!

This is Mighty Mike! He's a giant alligator! He was huge!

Look at that mug! (:

 Hahah! Just riding some froggies.

A tortoise! He was huge! And so slow. But he moved for us!

Penguins!

LOVE YOU ALL!
