First. None of my family emailed me this week.. So that's sad. But hey, thankfully we can repent of our wrongdoing and strive to be better! There's always next week! (;
So. I've been transferred. Ready to know where I went?!
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA!
I've made it almost to the very top of our mission! Up in Indiana! It was funny, cause I said I wanted to go to Kentucky. Ha! Then I went to the opposite end of our mission. But I love it here! It's great. The people are great, we've already done so much. I can feel that it's going to be a great transfer! Fort Wayne is neat because it's a city! So we get to drive downtown and see all the big buildings and such, it's neat! I love it. My new companion is Sister Montrose (pronounced like mon-chrose, hope that makes sense. The 't' is more of a 'ch' noise). She is gluten intolerant! WHAA?! Ya. So no bread or wheat like substances at our dinner appointments. It was weird at first, but they have lots of different substitutes, so it's good (: She's 5'10'' and is from Utah! She's really sweet. We're gonna do work here in Fort Wayne!
My new address is:
5491 N Clinton St.
Fort Wayne, IN 46825
So now you can send me lots of mails! I gave this address to my last companion, so she will be forwarding all mail to me. So Lucy, I'll hopefully get them soon! She said that I had gotten one and that she was forwarding it (: You're the best.
I was really sad to leave Milford. I didn't want to... It was home, and I loved the members. But it's fun to start new, to start over. It's kind of exciting. And Sister Sofele and I are in the same zone again! WOO! Only separated for 2 transfers (: Last night in Milford we went and played whiffle ball with the Bellistons and their neighbors. The elders were there too, so it was a party! It was so much fun. A great way to end the transfer! Then Sister Scott took us to transfers. I was freaking out, like I always do at transfers. And she was sweet and she gave me a "mom hug." It was nice. And much needed.
Transfers were cool. People are picked on to give testimonies, and one girl gave one, and I just felt something with her, it was weird. Well, it was Sister Montrose and we ended up companion. The Lord really knows what he's doing, and President Porter is truly inspired. It was neat. But embarrassing, cause I was sitting next to Sister Sofele and we got stuck talking and so I didn't even hear when they called my name, and Sister Sofele elbowed me and said, "That was you!" It was awkward and everyone laughed. Hah! But it's all good now!
There are only 3 of us visa waiters left, and somehow we ended up in the same district! And President Porter called me a few days ago and asked how I was doing and asked what I thought about us being all together. I thought he had planned that so we could work together on our Portuguese, but then he said he's excited to see what the Lord has in store because that is just the way it worked out! Crazy! That is so neat! Heavenly Father really does have a plan for us! He knows us all and knows where our paths will take us. It's neat to see. Everyone thinks we're together because we're all going to be leaving soon. Ha! We'll see (:
Every Wednesday we go to the Family History Library here in Fort Wayne and work. And it's actually a public library. To be exact, it's the largest Family History Library open to the public! How cool! I got a tour of it, and we get to do work there! It's SO neat! They have a TON of books. Lots of old ones. It was amazing! Their goal is to scan every book on earth! Pretty big goal, but a great one! So that's what we do. We go in and scan pages in books! It was SO much fun! I felt like I was helping out, and in a big way. We went and worked for a bit and I scanned about 200 pages of this really old book. I've got pictures (: It was incredible. They have senior missionaries serving missions there, so we get to work with them (: They're sweet. Senior missionaries are the best!
I got my nails did! One of our investigators, Michele, is a professional nail tech! So she does our nails! I was so excited. I've never had my nails done. So she did gells, and I got like a mint blue green color with big chunk sparkles (: They're pretty! It's fun. She's hilarious and I love her. She said a couple days ago that she would join the church if she could, but her husband doesn't agree.. So that's tough. But we're working with her! It'll be good!
Cooper! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope your day was happy and special. I was thinking a lot about you! I was going to send you a card... but I still don't have your address.. So I just sent my love! Hope you got it (:
The people here are great! I'm excited to be here in Fort Wayne! I love it. We're gonna work hard and do our best and help our brothers and sisters come closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ!
Also. Mom and Dad. I just want you to know how grateful I am for you. And for our family. I can't tell you just how grateful I am for how you raised us. That you taught us correct principles and how to be members of Christ's church and live our lives in a way that will bring us happiness. I've really recognized that a lot this week. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you and your examples. I love my family more than anything, you're my life. I'm grateful to know that we can be together forever. You're all my friends! As I talk about you, I only have great things to say, and how grateful I am that we're best friends. That's so perfect! We truly are blessed! Mom and Dad, thank you. Thank you for all you do for me. I appreciate every little bit! Thanks for teaching us the importance of attending church, and reading our scriptures and praying daily. Boy, where would I be if you hadn't taught me that?! I love being able to teach others about how those principles have truly blessed my family. Thank you so much.
I love you all so very much! I'm doing good. I'm happy. The church is true. Christ lives. God speaks to us. We are so blessed to know this. And how neat that we have the chance and opportunity to be examples to others and to teach them of this great knowledge that we have! Ah! Love it.
Hope you have a happy week! I love you all so much!
Sister Clara Kay Dunn.
Also. I have to redo that stupid FBI Clearance crap. Excuse my angry words. I'm just mad. Can't this all just work out already?! Sheesh. So it cost another like $20 to put it in, and then it might cost money to get my fingerprints done again and then I'll have to pay to ship it out. I'll keep you updated on that. Hopefully it doesn't give me as many troubles as the last one did. That was a pain! So just be aware that it'll be sent to you and then you'll have to send it back and all that jazz. Again. Blah. Whateves!
LOVE YOU!
Said bye to one of our investigators, Heather and her adorable kids. This is Javari, he's 4. And he wouldn't look at the camera for a picture. Ha!
Domonic (6) and Javari (4), they are so darn cute! Hahah.
They were fun. I miss them.
Giving high fives!
Playing whiffle ball!
The Belliston family! Parents and their children and us and their friend Joe.
Lisa Belliston. She is hilarious. And was like a mom. She was so kind to me.
Said goodbye to the Garcias. Their door opened and this is what I see! Hahah! I've been wanting to take pictures with them since I first got to Milford, and I did on my last night! Woo!
Bahaha. Awkward arm touch with Peeta.
Ha! We were holding hands. But don't tell president.
AHH! I got to meet them all! They're real people! I can't even believe! (; So much love. We had way too much fun having a photo shoot with them. ha!
Alls my stuffs! That's it. And that was a lot. But I was told I pack light. ha!
Reunited with Sister Sofele! Love her. Best friend.
So this is a picture of Sister Clawson, me, Sister Montrose and Sister Bergeson. Clawson trained me, Bergeson trained Montrose. Me and Montrose are companions and Clawson and Bergeson are companions! WHAA! Cool.
Welcome to Indiana! Yay!
We have a washer and dryer IN our apartment! Best ever!
Working at the Family History Library. That's the fancy scanner thing I was working on!
Here's the book I was working on. It was like land government cases from the 1930's!
This is one of my Zone Leaders, Elder Smith. They serve in the same ward we do, Fort Wayne Second Ward (it's weird hearing Second Ward, makes me think of my home ward!). We had a meeting with them and Elder Smith brought in a tub of ice cream, and 4 spoons... Ha!..
Saw this on my way here! COOL! I'm gonna have to eat there! (:
That's about it family. Lots of pictures. Hope you enjoy!
Know that I love you lots, and pray for you always. Can't wait to hear from you next week! I'll be emailing earlier in the day, so just be prepared!
Love you!
